Your Mental Health

How You Are Feeling

Mental health is a general term people use when they talk about emotional well-being.  It’s about how a person thinks, feels, and acts when faced with life's situations. Mental health is how people look at themselves, their lives, and the other people in their lives; evaluate their challenges and problems; and explore choices. This includes handling stress, relating to other people, and making decisions.

There are a lot of different types of mental health difficulties. When someone is struggling with a mental health issue, it can affect all parts of their life, affecting their emotions, thoughts, and behaviour.  A lot of people experience ups and downs in their lives and some people will stuggle at some point in their lifes with a mental health issue.

Everyone is different and manages their mental health a little differently.  It is important to be aware of how you are feeling and to realise that you don't have to deal with something alone. You always have the right to support from people in your life that you trust and if you think you're experiencing a mental illness you have the right to receive good health care.

You have the right to your own feelings.  We all go through times that are tough and we all need support from people around us.  If you have more questions about mental health, you might want to check out  www.SpunOut.ie or get in touch with us here by leaving a message or talking on the live chat.
