Loneliness is when someone feels separate from other people. A person can feel lonely even when there are lots of other people around. Everyone faces loneliness during his or her life. It can happen for many different reasons.
It is normal for people to want to spend time and share things with other people. It’s also normal to want to spend time by yourself sometimes. When someone is lonely, they might:
- Feel sad
- Feel that they don’t want to try new things, or attempt to change things
- Feel that no one understands their situation
- Feel lonely in crowded place, as they are watching other people having fun and socializing
