Homeless

Where Can I Go?

Most people will leave home at some stage in their lives and start living away from their parents.  Everyone is different, and some people will leave home with they are very young, other will wait till they are much other, and some people will live with their families their whole lives.

Sometimes young people think about leaving home when they aren’t getting on with their parents.  Sometimes it seems easier to leave and move out than to deal with what’s going on.  Sometimes home is not a safe place for a person to live and this is why they leave.  If home is not a safe place for you, you have the right to help and support.

Every young person has the right to live in a place that is safe and if you are not safe you can always contact Childline or the Gardai or a Social Worker.  The Gardai and Social Workers are there to keep you safe. The HSE number is 1850 24 1850. Childline’s number is 1800 66 66 66 and you are welcome to ring anytime.
