Abuse is any behaviour that harms someone else. It is when one person tries to control another using fear, violence, or intimidation. It can happen to anyone, and there's no one type of person who is abused or any one type of person that hurts someone else.
There are a lot of different kinds of abuse like physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse (eg: bullying), and neglect. You can find out more by clicking on the links to the side.
Abuse happens in rich and poor families, in one parent homes and two parent homes. It can happen between parents, between a parent and a child or teenager, between people your own age, and even between two people dating.
